26 females repatriated from Qatar

March 12, 2010 – Administrator Carmelita S. Dimzon of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said that 26 overseas Filipino workers, all females, repatriated from Qatar arrived yesterday (Thursday, March 11, 2010) at about 3:30 pm on flight QR 646.

Annasban rallyists accept OWWA last offer of livelihood loan help

March 5, 2010 – The 49 overseas Filipino workers pressing to collect from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration their salaries unpaid by their former Saudi employer and payment of their return air tickets have accepted OWWA’s offer for livelihood assistance loan of P10,000 each, OWWA Administrator Carmelita S. Dimzon said today.

Administrator Dimzon said that all of the 49 have already claimed their livelihood checks this morning to end their two-day protests in front of the OWWA main office.

OWWA offers livelihood kit but ex-OFWs demand unpaid salaries

March 4, 2010 – A group of overseas Filipino workers repatriated from Saudi Arabia and assembled by Migrante International to rally before the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) demanded yesterday cash from OWWA as financial assistance representing salaries unpaid by their former foreign employer, Annasban Corp.

But OWWA Administrator Carmelita S. Dimzon said there was no basis for their demand for OWWA to pay the unpaid salaries which Annasban allegedly owed them.

39 Female workers repatriated from Dubai

February 27, 2010 – Thirty-nine overseas Filipino workers, all females, repatriated from Dubai arrived today, Saturday, at about 2.30 pm on board QR 646, OWWA Administrator Carmelita S. Dimzon said.

The expected number was 42. But three OFWs were held by immigration authorities in Dubai. OWWA welfare officers in Dubai are checking with Dubai immigration the reasons for holding the departure of the three OFWs.

44 seafarers are repatriated from Miami

February 25, 2010 – Forty four seafarers repatriated by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration from Miami, Florida, arrived Thursday morning via Philippine Airlines flight PR 103.

OWWA Administrator Carmelita S. Dimzon reported to acting Labor Secretary Romeo Lagman that the 44 had sought Philippine government assistance to be repatriated from Miami.
