OWWA Launches Tuloy-Kolehiyo

To benefit poor but deserving students in their pursuit of higher education, OWWA extended the coverage of the established “Tuloy-Aral” Program (TAP) to include the tertiary level of eduation leading to either an associate or baccalaureate degree. The said extension of the TAP will be known as the “Tuloy-Kolehiyo.”

For its initial implementation, there will be fourteen (14) beneficiaries who will be entitled to either semestral stipend or actual costs of tuition and miscellaneous fees, offered by participating educational institutions, but not to exceed the maximum amount or Seven Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (P7,500.00) per semester or Fifteen Thousand Pesos (P15,000.00) per school year including summer classes.

The provision of additional slots in the program in the future will be dependent on available fund contributions from benevolent donors and sponsors subject to further deliberation by the project Management Committee (PMC).

Among the first batch of beneficiaries of the “Tuloy-Kolehiyo” are Judith A. Boyo, an incoming freshman of the University of Manila; Twinkle C. Pineda, a junior student at the Philippine Normal University; and Madonna E. Corpuz of the Montessori Professional College.
