OFW ORGANIZATION IN ITALY DONATES MONEY FOR THE TULOY ARAL PROGRAM



The Filipino – European Association of Empoli or FEA, donated One Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php 100,000.00) to the Tuloy - Aral Project (TAP), a project of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration that aids the needs of the less fortunate children of the former OFWs and other very poor children to continue their primary & secondary education.

The amount was raised from the fundraising event organized by the group of Filipino migrant workers based in Empoli in Tuscany region, 250 kms north of Rome, Italy. FEA chose the Tuloy - Aral Project of as its beneficiary through the initiative of Mr. Tony Liwag, Welfare Officer in Rome.

OWWA has provided the donor organization of the school children's profile in Tondo an area chosen by FEA. OWWA OIC Deputy Administrator Noriel Devanadera received the check from Mrs. Doreen Pineda Reyes, wife of the FEA President Dennis Reyes, who represented the husband in a simple ceremony at the office of the Deputy Administrator. It was witnessed by OWWA Officers namely Welfare Services Office Directors Ed Bellido, Luz Talento respectively, along with Connie Marquez of OWWA-NCR, Charry Burayag of Finance Mgt. and Ms. Norma del Rosario, Tuloy-Aral Project Manager.

The donation will benefit twenty-one (21) school children to continue their education in the next school year.
