Sabiniano Yncierto Convicted of Murder of co-OFW Released & Reunited to his Family

Sabiniano Yncierto, another Filipino worker was spared from death penalty in Saudi Arabia for allegedly killing a co-worker from Tarlac way back in 1999, was released and arrived in Manila on May 10, 2007. He was accompanied by Ambassador Villamor and welcomed by OWWA Deputy Administrator Adam A. Musa.

Yncierto’s mother, Lourdes Chan, was joined by Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs Esteban Conejos Jr, Philippine Ambassador to Riyadh Antonio Villamor and Administrator Marianito Roque of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration in welcoming Yncierto at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Sabiniano Yncierto was jailed seven years for the murder of Arnold Mingit at their workplace in Riyadh on December 2, 1999.

The 41-year-old native of Boholon, Cebu said his incarceration served him a valuable lesson and that he was ready to face a new lease in life with his wife and three children in his hometown.

Yncierto said he owes his life to First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo who donated P500,000 paid to Mingit’s family in Tarlac City.(Taliba News)
