The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Regional Welfare Office – National Capital Region (OWWA RWO-NCR) set-up a help desk during the 2017 Labor Day Jobs Fair held on 1 May 2017 at SM Muntinlupa to promote OWWA’s programs and services as well as to assist the OFWs and their families.

The Jobs Fair was conducted by the Local Government of Muntinlupa with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) as the lead unit in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), BRS Asia Pacific, and SM Supermalls. Around 90 private companies participated in the said jobs fair and out of the thousands that applied, 379 successful applicants were hired on the spot.

According to RWO-NCR Family Welfare Officer (FWO) Erlene Umali, most of the clients are dependents of OFWs who are interested in availing the programs and services of OWWA. There were also queries from people who are planning to work abroad.

Ms. Umali felt happy to share to the clients the programs and services of OWWA.

Information Technology I Larry Ticman thanked all the government agencies present for their help, “Maraming salamat sa mga government agencies na nandito at tumutulong sa ating jobs fair ngayon, sa DOLE-NCR, OWWA, SSS at Pag-ibig.

From L to R: Brochures of different OWWA programs and services and the directory of the regional offices were readily available to be given to OFWs and their families and thousands of job seekers attended the jobs fair.
