OWWA RWO Caraga sends Augmentation Team to Cagayan de Oro

June 13 - Four personnel from the Overseas Workers Administration Regional Welfare Office Caraga headed by Regional Director Samuel S. Madrid were sent to Cagayan de Oro City last June 5-11, 2017 to help in the expeditious release of Cash Relief Assistance to OFW Families displaced by the crisis in the City of Marawi.

“Our RWO 10 database registered a total of 1,418 OWWA members, both active and inactive.  We were told that from the time the fighting among the government troops and the ‘maute’ group began,   chaotic situation engulfed the area and residents left their homes sans their belongings and valuables.  Thus, we are ready to give cash assistance to help them in the financial aspect relative to their needs especially food and other basic essentials,” the OWWA Chief Hans Leo Cacdac said.
Active OWWA members will receive P3,000.00 each; while non-active  OWWA members shall get P1,500.00 each.

OWWA Region X is still continuing the processing of the remaining and new applications at the Northern Mindanao Regional Office located at 2nd Flr. Trinidad Bldg. Corrales, Yacapin St., Cagayan de Oro City and at the Department of Labor and Employment Office in Iligan City.

The financial aid for displaced OFWs, the OWWA head added, is pursuant to OWWA Board Resolution No. 07, Series of 2017, under OWWA’s Welfare Assistance Program (WAP).
