OWWA celebrates 35th Foundation Anniversary

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) celebrated on May 2 its 35th foundation anniversary.

 

In the Regional Welfare Office I (RWOI) in the City of San Fernando, La Union, the anniversary was celebrated with various activities both for the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) clienteles and the OWWA personnel.

 

The OFWs and families who came in to the office today were treated with free ice scream to beat the summer heat. Free coffee and snacks were also served.

 

Meanwhile, OWWA RWOI officers and staff gathered for a simple recognition rites, to acknowledge the personnel's contribution to the success of the OWWA through the years. The awards given out were Visionary Award, Dedication in Service Award, Customer Service Excellence Award, Outstanding Work Proficiency Award, Innovation and Creativity Award, Team Player Award and Service Efficiency Award.

 

In his anniversary message, OWWA Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac notes, "the OWWA is not just an infrastructure but is a community of people working together with a common and united goal and aspiration to make the lives of our OFWs and their families their ‘worthy journeys’ to and from overseas employment."

 

The OWWA anniversary this year is anchored on the theme, "We Serve, We Care: 35 Years of Helping OFWs and their Families."

On the 35th anniversary of the OWWA, the officers and staff in the Regional Welfare Office I (RWOI) commit to strengthened service to the OFW-members and their families in the Ilocos Region.
