OWWA Awarded at the 2017 BSP Stakeholders Awards

OWWA Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac received the Special Recognition for Advocacy Support 2016 Financial Learning Campaign for Overseas Filipinos and their Beneficiaries award for the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) at the 2017 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Stakeholders in the National Capital Region at the BSP Assembly Hall, BSP Complex, Manila on 11 July 2017.

Since 2006, OWWA has participated in the annual Financial Learning Campaign of BSP to educate the OFWs and their dependents on the importance of using remittances to build up savings and directing these into investments in financial products and business ventures.

With the theme “Transforming Shared Visions into Dynamic Partnership”, the 14th Annual Awards Ceremony aims to recognize outstanding partner institutions for their strong support and contribution to the statistical undertakings, information requirements, and advocacy programs of the BSP, as well as the effective delivery of its functions.

Juan D. De Zuñiga, Jr., Monetary Board Member and Chairman of the Board of Judges, congratulated the winners of the awards. “To our valued stakeholders, thank you for investing your valuable time and effort in supporting our common goal of empowering Filipinos. Congratulations and we look forward to our continuing collaboration,” he said during his closing remarks.
