OFW HELP DESK OFFICERS IN REGION XII UNDERGO CASE MANAGEMENT TRAINING

OWWA ARMM Regional Director Amy B. Crisostomo, Resource Speaker, prudently explains the Case Management Process.

&nbsp &nbsp The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration – Regional Welfare Office XII initiated a Capability Building Training for its Public OFW Desk Officers (PODO) in the region. The training dubbed as: “Case Management for Trafficked and Severely Exploited Migrant Workers - Batch 2” was held in Sarangani Highlands Garden, General Santos City last March 8-9, 2018. It was participated by thirty nine (39) Public OFW Desk Officers and their staff

&nbsp &nbsp The training aims to standardize a fast and reliable case management mechanism of service delivery in order to further promote and protect the welfare and interest of modern heroes and their families.

Jocelyn P. Tardo, PODO-Magpet, plays a role of a distressed OFW in one of the workshops.

&nbsp &nbsp OWWA XII believes that this capability building program is necessary in achieving the agency’s main goal of protecting the welfare of modern heroes working in foreign countries.

&nbsp &nbsp The training’s Resource Speaker, OWWA ARMM Regional Director Amy B. Crisostomo, emphasized in her lecture the need of being compassionate and proactive in handling welfare cases. Her diverse experiences as Welfare Officer in Abu Dhabi and Kuwait inspired the attendees to serve their respective clientele better.

&nbsp &nbsp The first leg of this Case Management Training was conducted last September 20-21, 2017 at Mt. Sabrina Panoramic View and Resort.

&nbsp &nbsp Officer-in-Charge Marlyn E. Jamero said that the capability building training is very timely and much needed by the agency’s partners in the ground since not all of them have background in welfare case management.
